More Than a Logo, A Story of Protection & Preservation

The Salmon Parks initiative is more than conservation. It’s about protecting the land, honouring ancestral knowledge, and building a strong future for generations to come. When the Mowachaht Muchalaht First Nation partnered with us, they were looking for Indigenous conservation branding that truly captured the depth of their mission and values.

We began with a powerful in-person workshop. Eighteen stakeholders, including members of the Nation, came together to share stories, perspectives, and vision. This is where the magic happens. We listened closely, asked meaningful questions, and uncovered the heart of who they are and what Salmon Parks represents. That insight became the foundation for Indigenous conservation branding that is thoughtful, purposeful, and visually strong. The logo brings everything together with simple strokes, strong colours, and intentional lines that reflect many sides of the Nation’s identity. The eagle eye at the centre represents constant protection, always watching over the land, the water, and the future.

Every part of this project was grounded in the Nation’s values of respect, unity, curiosity, and responsibility. Salmon Parks is about much more than saving salmon. It’s about restoring Indigenous leadership, reconnecting with culture and territory, and creating something lasting. This Indigenous conservation branding project is not just a visual identity. It’s a promise, and we’re proud to have played a part in bringing it to life.

The result? A powerful brand and digital presence that tells Salmon Parks’ story with clarity, emotion, and purpose. From the visual identity to the future website experience (in development), every element reflects its commitment to sustainability, conservation, and restoring balance to the land, rivers, and forests.
